Hypnosis for conception, pregnancy and childbirth has been clinically proven to be an effective form of therapy and has been recognised by the British Medical Association since 1955.
I use hypnotherapy to help mums-to-be with such things as feelings of nausea (morning sickness), pain, fears of labour and birth, fear of hospitals, pain control within labour, etc. As well as having hypnotherapy sessions tailored to your specific desires, you will also be taught self-hypnosis and many techniques to use whilst in labour and childbirth to help with contractions and any feelings of discomfort. It is normally taught over a series of 3 sessions, but don't worry if you have left it late - any hypnotherapy is better than no hypnotherapy! Here is what one mum-to-be had to say:
"Dear Sarah
I want to thank you so much for all your help. I came to you as a very scared mother to be, but now could not feel more different!
Before the hypnotherapy sessions I was unable to keep myself calm, unable to focus on positive stories of childbirth or even watch birthing videos without having a panic attack.
Now, it's a whole different experience. I am calm, excited and impatient for the arrival of my baby! If I do watch a birthing video now , it's just tears of excitement and anticipation!
You have helped me and taught me techniques to focus on the positives and trust my body, trust that it knows what it's doing and that each stage of labour will be manageable, each stage is bringing me that much closer to holding my baby for the first time!
I cant thank you enough for your help.

And after her baby was born - safely and easily using the hypnotherapy techniques and suggestions we had worked with she wrote to say:
"Dear Sarah
This is the first chance I've had to contact you! I'd just like to let you know that I am now a mummy!!
If you remember, I was due on the 17th June, I actually went into labour on Saturday 12th June and gave birth to my little boy, Louie on Sunday 13th June at 6.23am.
It was a straightforward birth, with only the use of the birthing pool and gas & air. I can’t believe how well I coped and neither can my husband or mum who were present.
I just want to thank you for all your help and know without a doubt that your hypnotherapy suggestions and techniques worked wonderfully.
Thank you so much
Victoria "
